About Me and the Blog

I’m 19-year old student of English Literature, currently bumming around England. Lovely place. I love music: making, listening and even writing occasionally.  Radiohead are my absolute favourite band of all time, bar none. I play Sax, Viola, Guitar, Uke, and vocal chords.

I am an avid player of World of Warcraft, let’s make no bones about it. I play a rogue in a 25-man raiding guild and so on the grand sliding scale of the game am considered to be on the nerdy side of “hardcore” – I’m far from this however, and although I enjoy playing well and with some skilled comrades, a game’s a game and that’s all WoW will be to me. I do enjoy getting the most from my character and so enjoy discussing (often with myself) new builds, playstyles, and so on, as well as chronicling my tales as a guild leader. If you find this kind of thing interesting then have a read; if you’ve come here for knitting patterns or “my favourite traffic cones 1964-1992 inclusive” then, unless I decide to blog in a hitherto unexplored direction,  you’ll be sorely disappointed. Sorry.

If you like music a lot, why aren’t you taking the next step? Get seriously involved, start studying it on an academic level and then get creative. Or, if you are passionate about computer games, try helping develop one. Where does English Literature fit in all this? Was it imposed on you?
What you’re saying is something like this: I like girls a lot and sometimes I enjoy experimenting with boys, but I usually only hump my neighbor’s backyard animals. I know, that was a weird way of putting it, but you either left out a lot from you description, or I’m too tired to make sense.

A fan.

The description is a little thin on the ground, and my life story is a little boring truth be told. English Literature is one of my tripartite loves, along with performing music and videogames. So far the three coexist, what with studying English as the day job, games in my free time and music for my me time. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping to form a band and I think I still will. I just think it’s unrealistic to place all my faith in music and that’s why I’m going for the degree, get something (that doesn’t even set you out from the crowd…but different issue) whilst keeping it up at the same time.

Also, first comment, grats you! And thank you!

Ah, that’s more like it!
You’re right, doing only one thing is most of the time not a good idea. Life though has a way of forcing you to figure out what you really like. In time you’ll have to abandon some of the things you enjoy in order to pursue the ones that really define you. But in no way accelerate the process, the time and energy you have now are a luxury you won’t find in the future.

You haven’t figured out who I am yet, have you?
